Does anyone know of a way to convert .wav audio files to mp3? Thanks in advance!

there are several ways to do this and many of the programs are free. One of these is CDex, which you can download from
http://cd-to-mp3.audiolaunch.com/cd-ripper/
Easy to install and to use.

Audacity also works well, and has basic sound editing features, although there not the most accessible.

Hello,
You can try this:
http://www.acoustica.com/
Very accessible if you're a jaws user, and they've got plenty of new features since I purchased it.
Take care,

I use goldwave, but there are a ton of ways to do this, as you can see.

I use Lame 3.97 beta 2 using the preset fast standard switch. Any MP3 encoder can encode a wav to mP3, since that is their very purpose. The trick is finding a front-end that is accessible. I use a multi-front end from Speex which can handle many different encoders, which allows me to transcode among file types.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who made this topic, Kerri for starting it too. I was just wondering the same thing. Heh.

On the Blind Cool Tech podcast, they recommend the Alive MP3 converter. It is very accessible. You can download it from www.alivemedia.net.
